Evergreen Forestry is a vertically-integrated, sustainably-focused forestry company managing seven pine and eucalyptus properties in the KZN Midlands, totalling over 6,500 hectares. Evergreen Forestry grows its own trees for pulp and sawmilling, with an increasing focus on delivering quality pine logs for the sawmilling value chain.
We employ more than 50 full-time employees who have been instrumental in delivering our vision of being recognised as South Africa’s best privately-owned forestry company.
Evergreen Holdings has been involved in the timber industry for over two decades. Evergreen Forestry was established to centralise and improve management of the company’s seven estates located across the KZN Midlands.

Yorkville Estate is Evergreen Forestry’s 4,060 hectare plantation, set in the picturesque Giant’s Castle in the KZN Drakensberg. The estate was acquired in 2019 and currently has over 2,800 hectares under pine and eucalyptus. The estate features four trout dams and has a 3km stretch of the Berg River as one boundary, with a wealth of flora and fauna.

MicroForest is a technology platform developed in-house at Evergreen to ensure that every square metre of the company’s 6,500 hectares of forest are properly managed.
Three years in the making, MicroForest combines several different map types with GPS and a communication suite to allow our team on site to pinpoint locations, share information and manage workflow to get problems resolved.
